The Appalachian Solar Finance Fund (SFF) serves 147 coal-impacted counties in six Central Appalachian states. Is your project located in an eligible area?  

Organization Types

Entities eligible for SFF support include but are not limited to: 

  • Public schools
  • Private/charter schools
  • Colleges and universities
  • Local government buildings
  • Fire and rescue stations
  • Water treatment plants
  • Homeless shelters
  • Libraries
  • Faith institutions
  • Subsidized housing
  • Childcare centers
  • Medical facilities
  • Manufacturers
  • Main Street businesses

Prioritized Criteria

The following criteria are prioritized during application review:

  • Deployment readiness
  • Investment leveraged
  • Local community impact
  • Geographic diversity
